I remember the moment. The boss was giving me dirty looks again. This time it was that upside down mouth in a frown - that had zero listening skills, and it was killing me to discover that the company I’d put my sweat and blood into for 12 years didn’t value what I had to say. I felt my heart flutter and sink and my skin tightened around my throat as I listened but was not listened to. I’d had a long string of managers parade through, each of them wildly different in their approach, except the common thread through all of them is that they didn’t know how to listen to the voice of wisdom and experience. They talked about coaching, and tried to use it to improve performance, but something seemed off, and I knew it was because they didn’t know how to listen, and since they didn’t know how to listen, how would they know how to coach? Even worse, the corporate culture didn’t know how to value the truth. The half-truths were like mud that I slogged through every day. My soul ached for more truth and purpose, and I knew deep in my heart that I could do better.
I believe that we incarnate here for a reason, that we have a life theme and a life purpose, and I could see the big picture backwards and forwards about why we are here, when others could not. So I began my quest to find my way forward and out of the corporate robots. The company had been like home for me, until it wasn’t anymore.
Growing up in small-town Minnesota I struggled with the small-minded thinking of the people I was surrounded by, and how they treated other people.
Everybody wanted to be cool.
But I never wanted to be cool.
Not ever.
I'm not here to play that game.
Only the conformists wanted to be cool.
But you wouldn’t be reading this if you were one of them.
Ultimately, coolness is about doing your own thing, not fitting in.
When I saw a career counselor and took the Meyers-Briggs personality evaluation I left there with the sinking feeling that I had just wasted my time and money on something that didn’t work. It was like using a rubber spatula from the kitchen to hammer a nail in the garage, I really needed a better tool, the right tool for the job. I kept trying other personality tests, but none of them got to the heart of pointing me in the right direction, they didn’t drill down deep enough into what I was really here for. I kept looking so I could figure out what really worked, and the tools I found were things outside the box of the mainstream like the Human Design system and astrology.
I’ve always asked the big questions in life:
• Why are we here?
• How do we make a difference in this world?
• How do we create a life path to accomplish making a difference?
• Why doesn’t everyone know that we are not the only intelligent life in the universe?
I knew wasn’t aligned to my purpose, and was on a quest to find a way to build my life around who I am on the inside, instead of trying to shoehorn myself into something that isn’t a fit for me.
Like many people, I worked for a string of employers where it always felt like something was missing. Because I’m multipassionate and have a wide range of interests, I’ve never wanted to do just one thing, which also gives me a great birds-eye overview perspective on the way in which people choose their life paths.
The truth is, I didn’t truly belong at the corporation for the long term, as much as I loved the company, being a corporate robot wasn’t a great fit. Remember the moment that I started the story with? It was actually a gift, I knew in that moment that I needed to leave, I could foresee the future, but I just needed a little time to make it happen. I’m an empath and I sense the energy of people and places, I was born connected to the cosmic-life-force circuit. I bridge the gap between the big picture and the details and connect them together.
I believe that knowing “why” we are here and who we are on the inside is the most powerful force for shaping our lives, ultimately, it’s about each of us knowing ourselves and our life direction so we can live our purpose.
To get this far I’ve used many different systems, one of the systems I use is Human Design, and in this system, of the four main types, I am the Projector type. It was through Human Design that I continued to observe how people interact and create situations where a person is living their purpose, or not.
I know what that feeling of not being aligned feels like, and it’s a painful, lonely place when you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I want to help you discover what makes you tick, because people fascinate me, and I love seeing how people light up as they discover a better way as the discover their purpose.
There is a “Theme” that runs through our entire lives, so that no matter what industry or role we are in, that theme will always be present, and we can work with this theme to create a better outcome for ourselves.
I wish I had something like this when I was on my journey, that has real-world results that can point us into our life direction and get us aligned to our truth.
This is why I created the STAR Method, my system that leads you step-by-step and gives you actionable information helps you overcome what’s stopping you, slowing you down, or getting in your way of creating the life you want.
You’ve incarnated here on earth, you know you are here for a reason. My question to you is, do you want this to be an ordinary lifetime, or do you want to step forward to doing what you came to do?
